Description

Liu Bao is a fermented, aged Black Tea that dates back to the Tang Dynasty and was one of the highest prized teas during the Tang Dynasty. It has a sweet and smooth; thick and rich taste with an aged Jujube aroma. The fragrance of Liu Bao will take you back to the empire of fortresses and castles, as if you are time travelling back to the Chinese dynasties.

Similar to its hēichá sibling — Pu’ Er, Liu Bao has many health benefits. It is a great beverage to drink before your meals as it acts as a probiotic of some sorts by cleansing your intestines. Liu Bao is also found to lower blood pressure, reduce body fat as well as to relieve fatigue. Many people who drink Liu Bao also acknowledge that the tea is both comforting and motivating.

For these reasons, Liu Bao is best consumed during lunchtime as it not only helps stimulate digestion before the meal but also keeps you awake after your lunchtime. Due to its relatively high caffeine concentration, it is a good alternative to your usual cup of coffee. Though fairly speaking, it has way more benefits than your coffee dose <winks>. If you are someone who gets food coma easily and would need to work afterwards, Liu Bao is your go-to!

Chinese Tea generally does not have an expiry date. Although loose tea leaves do not expire, they would lose aroma and flavour over time. Hence, it is recommended to consume Liu Bao within 6 months for the finest consumption. However, do rest assured that as JOHIN’s tea products are of good quality, our Liu Bao has a shelf life of around 2 – 3 years!
