Description
Pu’ Er falls under the umbrella category of fermented teas commonly known as ‘dark tea’ (hēichá). The increase in demand for Pu’ Er first commenced during the 1950s in Hong Kong. The aroma Pu’ Er gives would remind you of the humid forests and wet caverns. They are typically autumnal and would give you an aftertaste like sweet dried fruits or honey.
Fun fact! Not only does Pu’ Er tea promote weight loss, but many researchers have shown that it could potentially boost liver health by decreasing fat accumulation in the body. Besides, Pu’ Er can also help reduce cholesterol levels by increasing defecation of dietary-fat bound bile and preventing it from being absorbed into the bloodstream.
Due to its relatively high caffeine concentration compared to other Chinese Tea, Pu’ Er is advised to be consumed in the morning during breakfast!
Chinese Tea generally does not have an expiry date. Although loose tea leaves do not expire, they would lose aroma and flavor over time. Hence, it is recommended to consume Pu’ Er within 6 months for the finest consumption. However, do rest assured that as JOHIN’s tea products are of good quality, our Pu’ Er has a shelf life of around 2- 3 years!
